I’m depressingly fucking fat in all of Neva’s pictures. To see them, put nevatalladen in the box and click go.
Lia’s freaked out that an x-ray may show black lungs, while Chris’s sisters, who know he smokes despite all his efforts to hide it, have him scheduled for an x-ray himself.
Saw Chaos with Quark, Lia, Chris, and Neva tonight. We were supposed to be editing, but someone was late (CHRIS). Chaos is the first thing Hideo Nakata directed after Ring 2, and it’s a bit of a disappointment. No supernatural elements, it’s actually more of a Hitchcockian thriller, and has some brilliant sequences until about the last 20 minutes, when things become too overcooked. Still, I liked the non-linear style of the film and guessing at what really happened, and I’m so glad he used the student assistant of Ryuji in the Ring films (Miki Nakitani) as his star, since I thought she was really good in Ring 2. She looks older now, and we weren’t even sure it was her until we checked the filmographies.
Also got a cool gift from Sir Mark Escaler – a compilation disc of songs from Hal Hartley movies. Cool beans.
Happy Times is showing now at Art Film. Go see it.
